Lending a Hand When You Need It Most

Our Mission

Monterey Peninsula Autism Assistance (MPAA) is a California nonprofit organization dedicated to providing community-based support and services to under-resourced children and families affected by autism.

We provide advocacy services, parenting education and training, and financial assistance for behavioral, occupational, and speech therapies. We also serve as a valued link in the community for parents to connect with their resources.

Message From Our Director

“Thank you for taking the time to visit the Monterey Peninsula Autism Assistance (MPAA) website and for taking an interest in our cause. Perhaps you are here because you or someone close to you has been touched by autism. Maybe you are looking to make a difference in your community. Maybe you could use some help yourself. Whatever has brought you here, we hope that you find our site informative and invite you to join us in our endeavors to assist under-resourced families affected by autism.

As a mom and special needs advocate, I have seen first-hand the struggles families go through when their children need X but are only provided Y. We began MPAA to make up the difference. We provide funding for early intervention services, special school equipment, and advocacy services to assist families through the individualized education program (IEP) process. It is our hope that through compassion along with community education, we will be able to better serve our children and help them live happy and productive lives. On behalf of MPAA, thank you for your support.”

Our Vision

For all families on the Monterey Peninsula who have a child with Autism to get the support and services they need.

Our Goal

We believe that every child deserves the best education possible, regardless of differences in ability or family means. We strive to provide developmental opportunities to children affected by autism through scientifically supported methods of behavior, speech, and occupational therapy programs. We seek to educate parents and the community about Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs), learning disabilities, and their rights.

Our main objectives:

  • Improve the quality of life for those affected by ASD.
  • Fund therapy and provide advocacy services where they are needed most.
  • Educate the local community on ASD.

Client Testimonial

“This has been a godsend. There’s nothing like you on the Peninsula. Without your help, we would’ve gone bankrupt.
Thank you!”
